SUMMER 2000 - FINAL EVENING REVIEW
The 2000 league saw an increased number of teams playing on a weekly basis and, thanks to good weather throughout, each team was able to get in more matches than ever. Sarcoptic Mange Mites (Steve Raine) won Division 1 but it was a close and hard-fought battle with Kermit pushing them all the way - the final position saw kermits trailing by just two points ! Cheesy Poofs became Sarcoptics bogie team in the latter part of the season and they are hotlt tipped to cause them more serious problems next season.
Who shot Martin Oram won Div 2, having it all sewn up a couple weeks before the end of the season and being able to relax in their final matches.
Excellent weather on the final night of the season ensured a great turn-out for the end of year BBQ. Around 70 people turned up to eat, drink and be merry. This years fun and games included volleyball matches played on a double sized court, but with four nets !? How can we beat that one ?
